2020年4月14日より、Microsoftが運営しているゲームのサブスクリプション（定額制）サービス「Xbox Game Pass」が国内でのサービスを開始した。本稿では、そのPC版の内容や導入方法について紹介していく。

「Xbox Game Pass」とは

Xbox Game Passは、海外では既に開始されていた、月額課金制によるゲームの遊び放題サービスだ。Xbox OneやXbox X｜S向けの「Xbox Game Pass for Console」（税込850円/月）、Windows PC向けの「Xbox Game Pass for PC」（税込850円/月）に加え、2つのプランにXbox Live ゴールドメンバーシップを加えた「Xbox Game Pass Ultimate」（税込1100円/月）の3種類が用意されている。

また、Xbox Game Pass for PCとXbox Game Pass Ultimateは、初回の1ヶ月は税込み100円/月で提供されているのも嬉しいポイント。しかも、エレクトロニックアーツが展開しているサブスクリプション「EA Play」も自動的に利用でき、PC向けのElectronic Arts人気タイトルのライブラリ、限定特典、メンバー限定コンテンツなども楽しめる。

トータルでプレイできるゲームは約100タイトル以上を配信しており、新しいゲームがリリースされるたびに、定期的にゲームが拡充されている。

100本以上のラインナップを誇る「Xbox Game Pass for PC」

PC版である「Xbox Game Pass for PC」で遊べるゲームは以下のとおり。ラインナップについては調整中のようで、公式サイトのリストとランチャーアプリ「Xbox（Beta）」内の表示に多少差異があるのだが、本稿執筆時点で確認できたものを並べてみたのでチェックしてみてほしい。

「Xbox Game Pass for PC」で遊べる注目作

Gears 5

2019年9月に発売された、人気TPSシリーズ『Gears of War』の5作目。1作目から続く壮大なストーリーや、カバーリングやアクティブリロード等の「慣れると気持ちいい」アクションといった面白さの根幹はそのまま、主人公が筋骨隆々なマッチョから女性になったり、広大なフィールドを探索するパートの導入などの目新しさも取り入れている。対戦だけでなく、協力プレイのコンテンツも充実したオンラインマルチプレイも人気だ。

UNDERTALE

クリエイターのトビー・フォックス氏がほぼ一人で制作し、世界中で大ヒットしたインディーRPG。「誰も死ななくていいやさしいRPG」をキャッチコピーに、必ずしも戦闘でモンスターを倒す必要がないなど独自のシステムを持つ。レトロ調のグラフィックやサウンド、コマンドと2Dシューティングを併せたような戦闘システム、自由度が高く様々に分岐するエンディングシナリオ等が高い評価を受けている。

「Xbox Game Pass for PC」の導入方法

「Xbox Game Pass for PC」を導入するには、Microsoftのアカウントが必要になる。持っていなければaccount.microsoft.comからアカウントを作成しよう。

まずはXbox Game Passの公式サイトから、右上の「今すぐ参加」をクリック。するとプランの選択ができる。目当てのプランの「今すぐ参加」をクリックする。PC版を楽しもうと思った場合、初月のみ100円で楽しめる特別割引となっている。

●プランの選択

移動した先で「参加」をクリックすると支払い方法の選択に移るので、クレジットカード情報を入力。支払い方法はクレジットカード、PayPalなどがあるが、継続決済のためのカードやプリペイドには対応していないので注意しよう。

●購入確認

Passを購入することができたら、プレイするためのXboxアプリを導入しよう。https://www.xbox.com/ja-JP/xbox-appからインストーラーをダウンロードして、任意の場所にインストールする。

起動するとログインを求められるので、Microsoftアカウントの情報を入力。これでランチャーの設定は完了。GAME PASSのタブから、Xbox Game Passで遊べるゲームを検索してみよう。自分で検索する他、ジャンル等で分かれた一覧を見ることもできる。

あとは気になるゲームのページから、インストールできるようになっている。すると今後はアプリの左のバーにインストールしたゲームが表示されるので、そこから起動すればOK。アカウントメニューの「購入したゲーム」でも確認できる。

当初はPC版では日本製のゲームは少なかったが、タイトルの種類や規模に対して破格でゲームをインストールできる「Xbox Game Pass」。話題の最新作も続々追加されているので、遊びたいゲームがあるかチェックしながら、導入を検討してみては？
